I grew up in Basingstoke in Hampshire and have always enjoyed taking photographs. It was only after my compact packed up on an expedition to Tanzania in 1998 that I bought my first SLR, a Pentax P50. I loved the extra control this gave me, and photography quickly became a serious hobby. Wildlife, landscapes and travel scenes are my favourite subjects. My pictures have been published in a number of magazines including Outdoor Photography, and I am a contributor to Alamy Images. I have a BSc in Zoology from Cardiff University and a MRes in Primatology from University of Surrey. I have worked on wildlife research projects and expeditions in Tanzania, Vietnam, Cambodia, South Africa and Scotland. I am currently studying for a PhD at Cardiff University, where I am investigating the impact of climate change on long-distance migrant birds. You can read more about this research project at http://www.adamseward.co.uk/Research.htm. Equipment: Many of the pictures on this site were taken with Pentax manual SLRs (MZM and P50) and Pentax, Carl Zeiss Jena and Hoya lenses. In 2006 I switched to digital Canon EOS, and my kit now consists of the following: Canon
EOS 30D Manfrotto
055ProB tripod + 488RC4 ball head |
