Full CV

Born in Cardiff, I’ve always had a passion and interest in the natural world, particularly birds. But pretty much anything that moves has my attention!

I became hooked on photography after a field trip to Kenya in 2000, and bought my first SLR – a Canon A1. In 2005 I bought a Canon 350D and now shoot almost exclusively in digital, but have been known to return to film now and again. My pictures have been used by a number of organisations such as the RSPB, and ASH Wales. As well as taking photographs I am a regular contributor to Birds Illustrated magazine (www.birdsillustrated.com).

After three years working with the RSPB, I spent time as a freelance ecologist, before joining the ranks of the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW) as a Conservation Officer in 2007.
My main passion is birds and as well as being a keen birder, I am an active bird ringer, and currently hold a C-permit. I’m involved in a number of projects with a wide variety of themes, from aging and sexing criteria, migration, and the effects of weather and climate on bird behaviour.
